2016 Food Festival

The second edition of ‘Accra’s Three Tastiest Days’ involved over 20 food and drink vendors, and 1,000 ‘Foodies’ 29 and 31 July 2016, at the Regent Gardens, next to the African Regent Hotel.

The 2016 event involved the first ever edition of ‘The Cacao Show,’ a specialized dessert competition for Ghanaian chocolatiers and bakers, which ended with Rita Poku of the Cuppycake House winning a British Airways ticket to London with her ‘Explore the World’ Chocolate Supreme cake. The cake had three layers of rich, moist chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream filling and baby blue vanilla buttercream icing; topped by a miniature aircraft poised over a map of the world with lines pointing to different British Airways routes, surrounded by Chocolate Supreme cupcakes each topped with edible prints of British Airways and British imagery.

It was an all-male affair in the Onga Cooking Competitions, with Ebenezer Adjoteye of the Vinesthy Catering Institute coming first in the contest for Catering and Vocational Schools in the Region, and Cyril Gavor winning the amateur cooks version; both with Jollof Rice dishes.

The youngsters were also treated to lots of fun and entertainment by BerryBears Kids Events.

The Vittles 2016 Food Festival was organised in association with charity partner, The Hunger Project, and was supported by British Airways The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana, African Regent Hotel, Onga Ghana, and BerryBears Kids Events.
