The Extra And Co-Curricular Education Expo
ECCE 2014 was based on the theme, “Going within and beyond,” and built upon the modest success of the maiden event in 2013. We hosted over 170 educators, exhibitors and other stakeholders in Ghanaian basic education at the African Regent hotel on October 1, 2014. The event enabled educators to network with a wide range of over 20 exhibitors to negotiate rates, plan programmes for pupils and parents, and also learn about new products, teaching approaches, and education-related services. The presentations and exhibition focused on the following areas, among others:

Also known as ‘Ghana Planetarium’, this science centre project was the initiative of Dr Jacob Ashong and his wife
Jane; and the British High Commissioner to Ghana formally opened it in 2009, The Year of Astronomy.
The Planetarium activities suitable for all ages, including children’s craft activities on an astronomy theme, a
full-dome planetarium show, and night sky viewing if the sky is clear. We also host lectures, teachers’ workshops

Dr. Marilyn Marbell-Wilson is a Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician. She has ten years experience as a medical doctor and six
years as a specialist pediatrician. She works at the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital and also at Mission Clinic Ltd
– Pediatrics department.
Her specialty includes diagnosing and managing children with Learning Disabilities, intellectual disabilities, speech
and language issues, autism spectrum disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) amongst others.
She is married with a son. She is also a Sunday School teacher and is passionate about children.
Rev. Kofi Atua Ankama-Asamoah is the CEO of Cleaning Solutions Ltd and also a Director of TextGenesys Ltd, Omega Income Fund
Ltd and DASS Co. Ltd. Kofi is also a Fellow of Africa Leadership Initiative of Aspen Institute, Colorado.
Kofi has been a member of Joyful Way Incorporated (JWI) for 38 years; 25 years of which he was their drummer. He is also the
Immediate Past President of JWI. Kofi worshipped at the Accra Ridge Church before being called into the Ministry, and he is
currently the Minister in charge of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Emmanuel Congregation, Tebibianor, Teshie, Accra.
Kofi worked in Unilever Ghana from 1989 to 2000 in Manufacturing, Research and Development, Customer Service and Marketing.
He attended Presbyterian Primary School, Agona Swedru, and Datus Preparatory School, Accra, before continuing to Mfantsipim
School.
Kofi trained as a Chemical Engineer in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), before undergoing
postgraduate studies in Business Administration (Finance) in University of Leicester, UK. Kofi has two MA Degrees in Theology;
one from Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, and the other in Theology and Missions from Akrofi-Christaller Institute,
Akropong.
Kofi has been married to Doris for over twenty years with three sons, Yaw Okumka, Kwaku Atua and Kwasi Takyi.
They have also been blessed with a daughter, Akosua Ampofoah Owusu-Mante and another son, Peter Christopher Kotei.
